About the Energy4Climate Center

The Energy4Climate Interdisciplinary Center (E4C), launched in June 2019 by the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, is committed to the energy transition through research, training and innovation.

Faced with a climate challenge of unprecedented magnitude, whose human origin is now established, Energy4Climate contributes to the objective of keeping global warming below 2°C by developing appropriate and sustainable solutions.

About thirty laboratories collaborate within E4C, around four cross-cutting themes aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy efficiency, accelerating the deployment of renewable energies and evaluating public policies.

Missions, research and training

The activities of the center are carried out by its researchers in partnership with industrial actors. They involve various disciplines such as social and economic sciences, material sciences, engineering, applied mathematics, computer science or geophysics. The Energy4Climate center also develops instrumental platforms, energy forecasting models, forecasting tools and a data center.

Training the future generation of energy stakeholders is a priority for E4C. The center offers Masters, PhD tracks over five years, an entrepreneurship path for students wishing to create a start-up, as well as an international student challenge.
