Coriolis Seminar - Energy for AI and AI for Energy
The development and uptake of artificial intelligence (AI) has accelerated in recent years – elevating the question of what widespread deployment of the technology will mean for the energy sector. While the uptake of AI remains uncertain, there are expectations of a surge in electricity demand from AI. At the same time, AI could transform how the energy industry operates if it is adopted at scale. In this seminar, we will take a closer look at the outlook for electricity demand from AI, as well as which energy sources are set to help meet it. The seminar will also focus on what AI could mean for the energy sector, including a security, emissions, and innovation. The seminar is based on International Energy Agency (IEA)’s flagship special report on energy and AI.
