Coriolis Seminar - Can public research meet the challenges for a social, environmental and energy transition?

09 Mar. 2023
by Jean-François Guillemoles, CNRS research director at IPVF, coordinateur pour le projet PEPR TASE

The energy transition is prepared by investments, policies, … and research. It is not dependent on technical evolution only, but also on social and environmental issues. In this context, we will discuss what are the main challenges to bring more renewable energy in the energy grids. Another question is how are these challenges translated into public research programs to develop the new energy system. The example of the Priority Research program of the national acceleration strategy for the Technologies of Advanced Energy Systems (TASE) will be presented as an illustration. Finally, that will be an opportunity for some lessons on how public R&D is managed at governmental level down.
